One of the many ways of adding a bit of contemporary to a more traditional setting is to add the unexpected. Here Black Mondo Grass considered a "contemporary plant" was used along with the traditional Boxwood, Lavender and Hornbeam to create additional texture and color as well as a bit of whimsy. By not limiting plant material to the "typical", what could have been the traditional garden has been elevated to a fresher, more interesting and contemporary space
